Royalty Cage
Please help me identify this animated movie from my childhood!?
Okay, so I probably watched this during the early/mid 90s, though I could be wrong. I can see some scenes and flashes of characters so clearly in my mind, but the title of the movie and the overall plot eludes me.
What I remember:
A princess, with some kind of symbol that identified her as royalty. Maybe she didn’t know she was a princess?
A big hall in a castle with lots of tapestries, with the aforementioned symbol on them, which is significant somehow.
A prince, in some kind of treasure-filled cavern, battling a (purple?) dragon.
Near the end, the princess is in this cage on wheels and the moon is full. She sings a song (I think) and is given a goblet full of a purple potion by a witch or hag or something. She looks into the goblet and sees the reflection of the prince and then her tears make ripples in the liquid. She drinks the potion and falls over like she’s dead.
Help anyone? It’s been driving me crazy for months. Thanks!
ummm… ok, wild guess here.
the plot doesn’t fit perfectly, but many things you said made me think of “quest for camelot” (1998).
