Perch Cages
our cockatiel is 10 mo. he is happy & always talkative, now he talks but from the bottom of cage not on perch?
his personality has not changed just his habits he is almost always on the bottom of cage.
i feel he is getting sick! any help?
Why not try leaving the Cage Door ajar (safely & securely) where he can come out on his own & perch comfy atop the cage door(make sure it doesn’t swing,I twist tie it snug) or if he chooses atop his domain! You would be surprised how spunky they get when they get comfy on the outside of their cage! I also placed a nice tree stand next to my cockateils cage as well as made a little playground top on top of their cage…so it is playground ciyt & fun, entertining & stimulating for them.They generally learn to stay in the area once you let them fly off a time or two, then gently place them back…ALWAYS make sure your birds are safe out in the open like that…safe from other critters, safe from flying off ‘out-the-door! Stuff like that! My home is feathered fantsay, every place inside & out in opur pool/lanai area is kinda like bird heaven…safe & free to perch everywhere. I have habging & standing areas as well as swings & playgrounds all which bledn in with the home decor & my feathered ones all have learned where these areas are so they automatically fly to them safely & happily by their own choice. Happy birds=healthy birds as well as interacting birds =intelligent birds. Have fun with your feathered one…offer him opportunity!
